~THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FORUMS~
¨¨ ¨¨
¨¨ ¨¨
*WHAT IF? RPS & HISTORY OF ICE AND FIRE RPS
What If? RPs are for all you daydreamers who would like to start a formal RP that follows the series (TV or Books) if there was another twist or an unexpected event. Let your imaginations run free as you plunge yourself into the world of Alternate Universes. Click here to go to the What If? RP home.
History of Ice and Fire RPs are very similar, but instead of wondering what might happen or what might have happened, you can explore the world of what already has happened. Choose any period of time and re-live the thrilling history of how Westeros became what it is. Click here to go to A History of Ice and Fire home.
Layout:
In both RPs, you have the option to post ideas in the main board. You will find an Idea Form and all you need to do is fill this out and post it. Here the idea can be debated and voted upon, if it is popular enough then it will be created into a board.
Character Claim/Submission:
It is all up to the RP Leader which characters you can claim. (Eg. the RP Leader might only want Canon Characters from Essos). The RP Leader also decides what OCs can be brought into the RP. (Eg. Perhaps the RP Leader would only want OCs that have high-born statuses or OCs that are only from the North).
For info on how to submit a character for the RPs, view also the Character Submission thread.
Other:
- It is recommended that the RPs are of a Medium level, ie. Around 100+ words per post, but this is not necessary.
- Everyone can start an idea and become RP Leader
*FREESTYLE RPS
There is something for everyone in the Freestyle RPs, if you're looking to start a parody RP or a private one between you and a friend or a small group of friends then here is the place. From OC Galore to strictly Canon verse threads, and from advanced RPs to informal ones, it is possible to start any kind of RP here, even crossovers. Recommended for anyone looking to relax and give it a go. Click here to go to the Freestyle RP home.
Layout:
The Freestyle RPs have no boards, but once you head into that section you will find a series of RP Threads. Anyone can join any thread unless they are private (which will be stated in the title - [Private] - ).
Character Claim/Submission:
There is no need to submit an OC, so long as they make it through OC filters (May include things like: No fantastical creatures, no powers, no high-borns, etc.). It is possible to post information in the Freestyle Characters Thread that you wish to use in Freestyle RPs if you want everyone to know a bit more about them, but this is not obligatory. If you wish to post a character, then it is up to you how much you wish to put on the profile.
Characters can be claimed and unless the character is reserved, you may claim any character you wish so long as they pass through Canon filters (May include things like: No wildlings, no lowborns, no white walkers, no red priests/priestesses, etc.). You should warn the members of the RP which character you would like to take. But unless there is a very good reason for which you cannot claim that character, then you may claim him/her without permission (Though a warning is advised as to not confuse others).
For info on how to submit a character for the RPs, view also the Character Submission thread.
Other:
- There are no limits as to how advanced a role player must be to join
- Private RPs are allowed
- There are few rules but players must follow common courtesy rules
*STARTING AN RP
To Begin With...
In a Freestyle RP it is possible for anyone and everyone to start a thread without permission from the Admin. A small form is required to specify details as to things such as: the idea/story, OC and Canon filters, etc. If you want a Private RP, then state so in the title of the RP using '[Private]' as an indicator. There is a form to fill out in your first post but other than that, there is nothing stopping you.
In a What If? RP and a History of Ice and Fire RP it is possible for anyone to submit an idea, though the idea must be first approved by the Admin before the Admin makes the RP. It is slightly more formal, and again, a small form is required to submit an idea.
If you want any help setting up an RP thread, then don't hesitate to PM me.
Being An RP Leader
An RP Leader is the person who started the RP/Suggested the Idea and is in charge of what happens. They can set the requirements within a thread, following the rules stated above. An RP Leader is responsible for the RP he/she has started. If there are any issues concerning an RP that a Leader has started, PM me and I will help sort it.
Being an RP Leader comes with a few responsibilities (Making sure people abide to the rules that you put up) but it is a lot of fun and exciting to steer a forum in your own direction. For any of you who would really like to realise an idea you have in your head, then don't be shy to start an RP!!!!
