This bio is rather old, he is the first GOT OC I ever created so compared to my other bios, he is rather sparse. But the profile and older format still captures Darius quite nicely. I'll add anything else if it's needed.
~Basic Information~
Name: Darius Arash Martell, Lord of Sunspear, Prince of Dorne
Nickname/Alias: The Sand Devil
Age: 40
Gender: Male
~Character Traits~
Personality: Decisive, firm, and proud, Darius is not a man to be underestimated or taken lightly. He was born to be a great leader, displaying an impressing amount rhetoric and wit when he gives out a speech, whether in peace or war. He’s also a natural warrior, gifted with basic, sharply honed instincts that help him predict his opponent’s next move or get him out of a tough situation. As a leader, Darius follows the Martell code but also has his own set of principles and sticks to them, no matter what. He never wavers when time calls for action for he is a believer in quick but sound decisions.
Like the burning sands of Dorne, Darius is unyielding to others yet is passionate and protective of his family and those under his sovereignty. However, his wrath towards his enemies is ruthless and merciless; he doesn’t spare them a single thought as he crushes them with his bare hands. His own brand of justice can sometimes be viewed as harsh, brutal even, but in his eyes, when you live in a land full of hostile, blazing deserts, and rocky mountains you have to be tough and harsh in order to survive.
Appearance: Long, lean, and muscular, Prince Darius still exerts a raw, powerful duende that is quite remarkable for a man of forty years. He stands a little over 5”10 and has a solid, well-built frame. His slightly curly black hair (albeit in some lights it looks like a rich dark brown) tumbles barely down his shoulders and he keeps his small beard and mustache neat and trimmed. Naturally, his skin is dark, the color of mocha, which makes his deep cobalt blue eyes stand out even more. Darius’s face is slightly oval-shaped with a round albeit strong chin and smooth cheekbones. His nose is rather broad long, but does detract the pulchritude of his facial features.
For daily wear, he dons rich and colorful robes (crimson and hunter green are his favorite colors) that bear his sigil and also wears soft kid gloves and boots. On the hotter and more scorching days, Darius covers his head in a strip of cloth that is slightly turban-esque.

Skills: Darius is quite experienced in both wielding and fighting with a sword and spear. However, he primarily uses a spear because he’s more comfortable with it and designates more kills and victories with it. There are rumors he coats his weapons with venom and those rumors wouldn’t be wrong to suggest such a thing. After all, he is “The Sand Devil” and is quite good in dealing with various Dornish poisons.
Strengths: Darius is both a natural leader and warrior, he can hold his own in battle and survive while demonstrating remarkable acts of leadership that instill courage and strength into his own men, who are always willing to fight and die for him. His skills with spears and swords are peerless, he is difficult to disarm or defeat in melee or combat. Darius is also capable of making quick but practical, successful decisions with positive consequences; he doesn’t let the pressure of ruling and making fast choices overwhelm him.
Weaknesses: Darius is a harsh judge and so is his justice, so don’t expect your brand of mercy to match his, you might prefer to die instead. He also doesn’t believe in giving mercy to enemies, he kills them without a thought and moves on. Even those who surrendered will face his sword or spear. Darius leaves no survivors and everyone in the Seven Kingdoms knows it. Some would say he doesn’t have much honor in battle and it’s true, he makes no promises to his prisoners because killing them sooner rather than later is a better option in the long run for his family and allies. Lastly, Darius is a rather prideful man and when it comes to Dorne, has a superiority complex. This viewpoint that Dorne is the best kingdom there is and everything Dornish is better has earned him many foes and blindsided him from the accomplishments of other houses and kingdoms.
~Character Background~
History: The oldest of his brothers, Darius Arash Martell has been groomed to be a lord and leader ever since the day he was born. His father gave him the best trainers and tutors, hoping his son would outshine their ancestors and perhaps, all of the others lords in Westeros (especially the Tyrells). Even his mother had a hand in his education. She would bring him to meet the common folk so they would see him at an early age and pledge their loyalty to him. She told him if he also had the support of the common people, the majority, you could make them believe anything and move the world for you.
As Darius was growing up, he exceeded expectations and proved himself to be a formidable fighter, showing much skill with a spear and a sword. He practiced his oratory, whether to himself or other family members, trying improve his rhetoric and persuasion skills to help his status as a leader. When he was of age, he entered several tourneys. He won a few jousting tournaments but the melee was his personal best. For his ferocious, adamant fighting style, he alarmed many men and his vicious war cry made some think he was a sand demon, hence giving him the nickname “The Sand Devil”.
Once he reached full manhood, he engaged in several illicit affairs and fathered three bastard children, two boys and one girl, who he took under his custody. However, when he was in his mid-twenties, his father’s health suddenly began dwindling rapidly and his dying father begged him to marry before he died. Heeding his father’s wish, Darius began searching for a suitable bride who would be strong and tough enough to endure living in a harsh, dry kingdom. He found such a woman in Elena Gwyneth Frey, who impressed him with her witty, charismatic nature and backbone of solid steel. After several months of courting, they were married within the following year. Elena gave birth to six children, three boys and three girls. Darius’s father managed to live long enough to see his first grandchild. His mother soon followed her husband, leaving Darius to rule the kingdom of Dorne with his wife, his banner men and knights, and four younger, dutiful brothers.
